The Enchanted Mirror Part 3

Image
Lily stared in disbelief as this woman claimed herself Glinda “Wait...what? Glinda? Then where’s-?” Lily was cut off in between a sentence “Foolish girl, I am Ginny and Glinda. I’m the same person, I just changed my looks. Convincing, right?” Glinda smirked in a way that made Lily’s blood boil, “I knew that someone had entered my kingdom without my permission so I went to investigate.” Lily clenched her teeth, she couldn’t believe that she had trusted Ginny, thinking that she was a friend. This is all my fault, she thought, now Ginny - wait, Glinda - knows the secret of the mirror. But I know that I can still beat her!  “That doesn’t matter,” Lily said, mustering all her courage up in front of the huge woman, “I will beat you anyway, with the mirror!” Glinda laughed at her, and said, “You don’t understand, do you? When you told me about the mirror, the flower I visualized that came alive is a magical moon rose. It draws its power from the moon and strengthens the person ...

The Enchanted Mirror Part 2

There was a lot on Lily’s mind when she had stepped through the door. She had just learned a few days ago that she was a witch and now she was walking in a dark passage, not knowing when or where the end would be. Would it take her to her desired destination? Would it lead her to trouble? Or would it simply go on forever? These thoughts haunted her, as inseparable as her own shadow. Though she tried to shake the feeling off, doubt and uncertainty filled her. Wandering in the darkness, she spotted a light ahead, and where hope should have been filling her was the constant instinct of danger ahead. Her brain was telling her to turn around but she pursued her heart and continued forward, trembling ever so slightly as she pushed the emerging door in front of her open.   Stepping toward the other side of the door, Lily noticed two things. (1) The sky above her wasn’t the sky, just the ground above them enchanted to look like it, and (2) all the people were not ugly and were not r...

The Enchanted Mirror

Image
A long time ago, on a small island, lived a beautiful and clever witch. Her name was Livia. She was blessed with magic and although she used her magic for good, people grew jealous of her capabilities, teasing her for being different. They refused to listen to her and blamed her for crimes she didn’t commit. For this reason, she was banished from earth and was forced to go into hiding. Using her magic, Livia created an underground kingdom, far more advanced than any human colony in the galaxy. But there was only one problem, Livia was alone, no one else was gifted with magic like her. So, to put an end to her loneliness, she built a mirror. It was an enchanted mirror that could bring anything that was visualized to life. Using this tool, Livia created more witches and became the leader of the new race.   Using their unique gifts, the witches built a whole underground community as their home base. Under the leadership of Livia, they used their powers to help the human race ...

Doctors Are Warriors?

Image
Imagine you are a doctor performing heart surgery and your patient is sound asleep in front of you. Everything is just as it should be. But as you perform the surgery, the heart jumps and grabs your throat (I mean how can you even imagine that?) and you fight it before it strangles you. Crazy right? Of course, it is (unless you believe what I told you which you should NOT)! From the beginning, a seed has been planted in our heads whispering to us that doctors are saviors, not warriors, right? Obviously, you will say, they are totally NOT warriors (well most people do anyway)! If a heart was able to strangle a doctor, many wouldn’t choose this path, this I am quite sure of. Doctors save people from treacherous situations and there is nothing to harm them along the way. Their career isn’t dangerous like those of construction builders or soldiers who receive fatal injuries. Their job is meant to only help people, right? Or are we not thinking the correct way?  Well, there isn’t much...
